Goodbye Summer…

When I can, I try to jet from LA and visit some of my relatives out in Long Island.  It is always fun to spend some time out there during the summer!  Despite the traffic, the heat, and the summer crowds.. it is a beautiful place. I especially love visiting the Montauk beaches, not to mention enjoying the tasty lobster bisque at Gosman’s Dock.

ELAINE + BRAD, IN LOVE

I loved photographing Brad and Elaine’s engagement session!  They are both insanely talented graphic designers and wonderful people, and I was very excited to capture them together.  I think Elaine would be perfect for an Anthropologie ad in her beautiful dress …

“It’s very clear
Our love is here to stay ;
Not for a year
But ever and a day.

The radio and the telephone
And the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies,
And in time may go !

But, oh my dear,
Our love is here to stay.
Together we’re
Going a long, long way

In time the Rockies may crumble,
Gibralter may tumble,
There’re only made of clay,
But our love is here to stay.”

JOSE VILLA WORKSHOP EYE CANDY

This is a long overdue post! Here are some photographs from the fabulous workshop with Jose Villa in Solvang from last Fall. If I could I’d photograph there all the time! Beautiful vineyards and light, not to mention yummy danish pastries! You can sign up for Jose’s workshops here.  Many thanks to the fabulous brides Lacie & Nikki, Mar with T.E.A.M. Hair and Make Up, and Renae’s Bouquet for the amazing flowers, and of course Jose!

AMY’S BABY SHOWER

I was so excited to have the opportunity to document Amy’s shower! It was so much fun. The special day was hosted by my talented friend Cherie (who did an amazing job with the decor and the food) and her friend Joy. Needless to say, it was truly a pleasure to photograph. I especially loved the little animal necklaces that were passed out to the guests to wear for a game.  If someone heared you say the word “baby”, then that person gets your necklace. At the end of the shower, the person with the most necklaces is the winner!  The Italian lunch buffet was fantastic….and the super yummy mini cupcakes and “icebox dessert shots” created by Vanilla Bake Shop …. so delish and a huge hit!

I HEART BEAUTIFUL BABIES…

I had the pleasure of photographing baby Linus on his 3 month bday. He hardly cried at all, though his parents say that he was having a fussy day at the time. Could’ve fooled me! This was our second “photo shoot”; the first was done the day after he was born at Cedars Sinai in LA. It’s truly fascinating for me to see just how quickly babies develop and grow into their own little personalities. He is a beautiful little boy, and I can’t wait to see him on our date for his 6 month pictures!

CRYSTAL + MARTY

I got to photograph Crystal and Marty’s wedding with awesome photographer and good friend, John Patridge. It was a really fun wedding day, despite the groom and groomsmens’ limo breaking down on the freeway to the the ceremony. Everybody made it just in time, though!

Marty is a HUGE Dodgers fan, and his love for the game was reflected in the cake to the table settings and name cards. All through the evening, there was great music and killer dance moves. All in all, a totally fun night!
